I am a longtime lurker on the forum and have always appreciated the insight that I find in the postings.

Now I need some insight into a specific issue. I have a 2007 GW208 that I have owned for 10 years. For most of that time it lived on a trailer in my barn when I was not using it. For the last several years it has been in a Galvanized Boat cradle with wood bunks under a boat house. The bunks and galvanized I-beam frame is spaced properly per GW's recommendation for width and center of gravity. The bunks and frame are about 22" in depth.

My existing setup works great but a sandbar has been slowly migrating toward my boathouse and is now impeding my ability to get out of the slip on a north wind.

I can maintenance dredge the sand under the boat house every year and probably keep the frame, but I was wondering if anyone has kept their 20 foot or larger boat in canvas slings. I have kept bay boat center console boats in slings with no problem, but all GW's are heavier than these boats and the cuddy cabin structure adds a lot of weight and windage.

I called Grady White's customer service. They leaned toward my current fixed cradle lift and offered no guidance on a sling lift.

Thanks for any opinions and help. For reference I am between Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL.
