Another good trip to Santee!

Big fish of the trip, 75#

My buddy pulled it in on his boat. Pictures and released for another day.

How do you keep that fish for a dockside release? Do you swim it on that stringer line?

Yep, we keep it on a stringer alongside the boat so it still swims. When on the move in, it lays in the floor of the boat and keep it sprayed down with the raw water washdown hose till we can weigh it, snap some pics and release it back into the lake.

Wow, nice fish. Those are blues? We have channel cats out here. Used to fish for them in the Sacramento River and various sloughs in the delta. 11lbs is my personal best.

Thanks!

Yes, blues and the occasional flathead thrown in. There are channels there also, but we cull them, to hard to get the fishy taste out.

I thought you had put the boat to sleep for the winter?

Looks like a fun trip....

That was my last trip of the year. She went into hibernation the week after I got back. First of November is when I put it up.
