Does anyone know what adhesive was used by Grady for this job? I am not sure what the armrest material is and don't want to use something that could melt it.

The thin covers that were offered for the deluxe2 helm seat covers was basically clear super glue. I think you could use any rubber/vinyl adhesive. You could use a 2 part epoxy like JB Weld or even standard contact cement for that.
I would also think that any good adhesive sealant should work just fine. 3M4200... or 5200 if you don't anticipate any need to ever remove it.
Thanks fellas. I will look through my adhesives on hand and see if they say they are for "rubber/vinyl".
That's correct. The original adhesive is stuck solidly to the hard plastic. It let go of the spongy rubber cover without pulling any pieces out. I am going to re-glue it today.
Thanks. From the picture, I thought it might have been a plastic "core" with a soft overlay.
Well, I still haven't got around to glueing that armrest. My sons jeep is having issues so I have been helping him. I have decided I am going to try "Shoe Goo". I have used it to repair running shoes and hip waders in the past with good results . I will let you know how it works out.
Well, I was surprised, the Shoe Goo would not even smear onto the foam of the armrest. It just rolled up in a ball behind the noxxle of the tube. I used a wooden paddle to try to smear it on and again it just rolled in a ball behind the stick. Really strange. That was obviously not going to work so I was looking through my stash of left-overs and low and behold I read on a bottle of Gorilla glue that it works on foam. They weren't lying. I dampened the foam side of the armrest and drizzled a little Gorilla on it and weighted the armrest after putting it in place. Today it seems to be holding very well. This is just FYI should the need arise for you.
