I bought a 1998 30’ marlin with twin Yamaha 250S. Can anyone recommend an auto-pilot that is simple to install and will work on the boat. All I’m interested in is holding a course. It does not need to be linked to the gps.
Thanks
Dick

You cant go wrong with a Simrad. Just get the most basic one they offer and if you do the install yourself make sure you get the proper pump. No rudder feedback device is necessary (it tends to fail over time)...Good Luck.

call some marine installers on Nav gear.
Sometimes they have good stuff that is still in good condition but the owner wanted an upgrade.

How much should a used autopilot system cost? I've looked online, but I'm not sure I am seeing the whole package. What is involved with the install of an autopilot system.....is this a DIY job or does it need to be installed by a professional?
