You don't need porgies to catch Bass, but it helps. Lately the scup have been hard to come by, sooo.. we went back to diamond jigs. 4 and 6 oz. ava's caught what feels like a hundred blue fish and 6 bass around the 34-39 inch range. Just fished the morning tide, with a friend, before that 20mph east wind mixed with the ebb tide. Did not lose a jig to the blues, but we retied often. Didn't dare trying any of those soft shads yet, waiting for the blues to leave.
