Hi all,

I recently posted a 'wanted' ad in the other forum (see here: http://www.greatgrady.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23488), and this got me to thinking ... For little parts like a single cushion (which is what I need), can't I go looking at broken/wrecked boats? Is there a 'junkyard' equivalent for boats? If so, does anyone know of any on the Eastern Shore?

Thanks as always,

I always wondered the same. Especially after Sandy too. I would like to get the TV housing shell for the Marlin.

This is the only place I know of for mostly out of new surplus out of production stuff.
I guess you would have to go there and pick through the place.

After Sandy we had a boat salvage yard pop up behind the local small airport. They had hundreds of salvaged boats that the insurance companies had totaled. They were selling them off to the highest bidders. Here we are three years later and you'd think there would something left to pick through. Nope nothing, all gone. I believe what wasn't sold went to the landfill.
Its a shame.

What single cushion for a 1996 Grady White 208 are you looking for? I also have a 96 208 and do not use the cushion set it is in my garage and I would be willing to sell them. I habe both stern seat covers both fishbox seat covers and all three pieces that go on the cabin in the bow. I have owned the boat 6 years and used them once. They are in really nice condition. These are the original cushions they are white with blue and grey trim. The really do look hardly used. The only cushions that I do use are the helm and passenger seat cushions they are a little weather beaten and I'm not really looking to get rid of them.

When you say Eastern Shore do you mean Eastern Shore of MD?. I'm in Delaware County PA.

billyttpd, great talking with you just now. As I mentioned, I'm going to explore one other local option, but will get back with you if I'd like to buy the set from you. Thanks again!

Billy if Jonah doesn't want the three bow cushions I call dibs.
