I have been painting the whole bottom of my boat each year with anti-fouling paint for years. I am hearing that it's only neccessary to "touch-up" where needed.

Any/all opinions welcome......if I don't need to crawl under the trailer anymore I won't be upset.

We paint the entire bottom of the boat every year. I would recommend that, just to avoid a patchy mess. That's just my opinion though.

I use Interlux Micron 66 and get two to three years out of it. Not cheap but very, very good. But my boat sits in the water all the time. Not sure how it will do if you trailer in and out. Maybe ask a Paint Pro at the yard. Good luck...

You should be able to touch up and get 2-3 years with today's ablative paints. Save the extra when you paint for your touch up.
