im wanting to build a pair of the folding in cabin rod rack. ive seen a few from different boats but my windows are different then the older 282's. wondering if anyone has a 2004 or 2005 270 islander with the rod storage rack and if they could take a pict or 6 for me? some measurements would really help too

Attached are photos of 268 Islander folding rod racks. Photographed over a grid so you can get rough measurements to build a set.
I have them, but I won't have an opportunity to get you photos and measurements till later in the week or next weekend.

I see a few differences:
-the front mounts sit lower on the 270 vs the 268.
-the aft mounts attachment points are different because of the vinyl trim around the window.
judging by the picts on the graph paper 1" grid, the aft mounts are 18" tall and each of the three levels are 6" above the other? (like the vertical distance between one u shaped spot on the rod rack to the one above is 6"). is that right?
could you get a picture of how they mount? I can't see that detail with the reels in the way. but it looks different than hookup1's picts with no vinyl trim around window
im started playing around with some cad programs in an effort to make a DXF file for a cnc router to make these, but I think for a one off im better approximating things and doing it by hand. I have zero previous cad experience and the learning curve seems steep

The rod holder parts front and back are flipped for rod tip/butt but are identical dimensions. The mounting part will be different front and back and slightly different from the 268 because of the window. I would make up a cardboard template first, copy to wood or plastic template and router off that template.

The mounting point for the last photo is about 17" ahead of the tip of the vinyl covered window trim.

Hello, I have a Sailfish 282 and made the rod holders out of Starboard. They came out pretty good. I took pictures of the OEM versions from a friend's 282 and made my own templates. I have the templates if you would like me to send them to you.

Has anyone ever tried to contact GW customer service to see if they had fabbed these up in-house, and if so, still had the design skematic? I've gotten drawings for other stuff on my 1995 268 previously.
