Our 1996 Sailfish 272 has 2 vinyl cockpit comings- each is mostly Grady off white, with a small section at the forward end of Grady blue with the words, Grady-White printed? stenciled? I'm not sure how it is affixed. The blue is faded and cracked and I'd like to it as original/new. I'm sure my local upholsterer can replace the blue section, but I'd like to have the Grady-White wording replaced as well. Has anyone encountered this, and ,if so, what was your resolution. Thanks.

If you take it to a local embroiderer, then can sew the logo in to the section of vinyl before it's assembled into a bolster. You'd probably need to provide them with a scanable font/graphic as they likely won't have it on file. I did this with my Sea Ray Sundancer when I replaced the cockpit vinyl - came out absolutely fantastic. Being "sewn/stitched" gives it a high-end look, too.

Thanks Dennis. I've opted to having my canvas shop put a off-white strip across the damaged section. Your idea sounded good, but I wonder how the thread would hold up to the sun. Thanks again.
