I recently bought a 2006 Sailfish. I have removed the covers from the cushions & had them dry cleaned. I have two questions. Read on here that the plastic was only to make it easier to put the foam in the covers. Do I need the plastic? Does anyone have a suggestion of a better way to get the foam back inside the covers? Thanks for your advice.

I had to remove the foam from stern seat last summer. The plastic was pretty shredded. I used a couple of plastic kitchen trash bags to cover the foam and it seems to work fine. This was on a 2004 Sailfish.
I was starting to see orange dust on the seat under the cushion. Guessed the foam was getting wet and beginning to fall apart.
