If you mount it on the bow, it would need to be flush with the deck or anchor locker, if it is above it it will be in your line of sight when running. You could just add a piece of starboard on top of the anchor locker, cut it about 1" smaller all around then the anchor locker door itself and you can through bolt it, that might work well. Only down side is the walk forward, if you are chunking bunker or cutting bait you don't really want to be that far from your rods, if it is just for fillet purposes at the dock I would not bother. For years we have filleted fish ontop of a cooler with a rug on the top, the rug is the ONLY thing we've found to keep a fish from sliding, wood and starboard are slippery, something to keep the fish from slipping is much safer. We will rinse the rug out with water and put some soap on it, they last about 3 weeks before needing replacement, but we use them a bit. I'd say half my dock uses a rug now and most that have the magma boards have cut rugs to size to fit in them. We usualy go to a local rug store and ask them to save old samples rugs for us, they are perfect size for most fish, your avg striper fits perfect and all fluke will fit unless it is a true dormat.
