Evinrude check engine light

After striking out in the Search department, I will ask: My friend has an Evinrude 150 , e tec ,two cycle motor. He hasn't used it here in Florida for about 6 months. Upon successful start up the "check engine" light immediately came on. All oil levels were checked prior to start up. Any quick,common reasons for this, that can be checked? Thank you,capt1947

Water in the fuel maybe , check barnacle bill marine web page lots of etec stuff
