Excess water in the forward bilge of my 228 Seafarer.

Water seems to accumulating in the forward bilge of my 1996 Seafarer. Does any one know of any of the waterline thru holes go into the forward bilge area?

If so, what is involved in inspecting the area, and checking the hose clamps? Can it be done through inspection ports, or do I have to pull out the water tank to gain access?

If you read up/search on this, you'll find that this is common with all GW's. Not because of leaks, but because the forward bilge area/hull design is slightly lower than the aft bilge.

Tilt the boat up (whether on the trailer or with slow speed trim. Get all of the water out - ALL. Use a sponge if you need to.

Then, monitor closely and if you're not bringing water onboard, it should stay dry. If you get water back in, then monitor for the leak - any leak will make it's way first to the fwd bilge .
