My wife and I took a one day trip to Cape Hatteras North Carolina, we left Friday after work from our house in Poquoson Virginia and came back last night.
Saturday morning I departed on my jet ski from Teaches Lair in Hatteras Inlet at around 0700 and headed South. I ended up way South, about 18 miles past Ocracoke Inlet. The day Started out a little breezy but end up near perfect later on.
I cover a lot of ground and did not see any Cobia, I did see Whales, Dolphins, Sea Turtles and of course a varity of birds. The Ocean was almost a clear emerald green and I could see several of the near shore shallow wrecks. I covered round trip about 83 miles.
This was my first Cobia attempt for the season and I am sure I will try again soon.
I had a great time on the water. My wife walked the beach, rode her bike and checked out a couple of local art stores.
Here are some pictures I took while out yesterday.
