On my Grady the rub rail has pulled away in 2 places from the previous owner. I was wondering if there is a way to fix it or is this something the average DIYer can't do? I looked for a seem in the rubber but cant find it which has me worried.

Rub Rail

If it is like my Sailfish, the main rub rail is a blue rubber channel with a rubber tube insert. the insert starts and ends at the stern, Remove the end cap and then work it out. Under it you should find hundreds of screws.

I replaced the one on my Sailfish last spring. I purchased it at the local GW dealer, Boats Inc in Niantic CT. I was under $200 for the complete new one.

You need to install a new one on a warm day to make it easy.

I had the same problem. I pulled out the center round shaped rubber rail and replaced the screws. I drilled new holes beside the old screws and applied new stainless steel screws. I backed out the old screws (most were bent) and filled the holes with 5200. Not a difficult job. I purchased thew new screws at Boats in Niantic where Sailfish25 got his supplies.
