Well, it's that time of year again...
This is our first year of ownership of our '99 Sailfish and I need to frame up a structure for support of the tarp. In years past, I would use strapping wood (1"X3") to make a long
continuous "ridge board" front to rear and support it with verticals made of the same wood. This was fine for a 15' skiff and the smaller boats we owned previously.
This is a much larger boat, and my intent is to double the thickness of strapping wood over the boat, and support it with 2X4 verticals every so many feet apart inside the boat. I have a large 30" mooring ball that I will place on the roof next to the radar and will fold down the anchor light post up there.
Our "ship" will be marina-kept where the only shrink-wrapping permitted would be by their own in-house people at a cost of about $580...hence my interest in covering with something less pricy.
I want to do my own Winterization as well due to the cost of services at the Marina.
Can anyone on the Forums here add to or suggest ideas to make this a success?
A pic of appropriate framing would be especially appreciated...
Regards,
-Mike
