Problem solved.

The fuel water separator that used to supply the generator that I removed had corroded through, allowing fuel to drip out the bottom.
 
UPDATE:

I looked around some more with a flashlight, and found the fuel filter and the fuel filter housing that goes to the generator heavily corroded. It's too dark to remove and inspect tonight, but I'm about 90% sure that's where the fuel came from.

There is no fuel valve shut off to that fuel filter, so I plan on removing it, and installing a fuel valve tomorrow.
