Just got an 86 22ft seafarer.with a 2003 4.3 merc mpi,with an alpha drive,I was wondering what the fuel burn would be at cruise.
Also what RPMS should I cruise at? and what should wide open rpms be,? and what kind of speed...I would think with that engine it should be good on fuel......AL

If you look at the engine, there should be a flame arrestor cover on there with specs on the engine. But, the WOT RPM on that engine is 4400-4800. Generally speaking, low to mid 3,000RPMs will give best cruise. Somewhere in the 7-9ish GPH range.

I know very little about I/O style engines but I found this link. If you look at the tachometer on the left side you can get an idea of fuel burn at different rpms.
