galvanic isolator?

I just bought a 2000 Marlin 300 and noticed that there is a galvanic isolator under the starboard side gunnel. How do it tell if it is still working?

The galvanic isolator is a set of back to back diodes. They are used to isolate galvanic currents and keep the ground continuous. Use a multimeter on the diode setting and check forward and reverse. Be sure to disconnect all shore power before testing.
