My all around light actually is unsafe the glare is so bad...changing the mount area is not an option How can I cut down on the glare and remain safe/legal?

Boat model?

Hardtop, soft top, no top?

Where is light mounted?

Is it direct glare? or reflected off the railings?

I had the same problem on my old overnighter.

The way that I initially solved it was to put black electrical tape over the rear facing part of the light. While this was technically illegal (the anchor light is supposed to be visible 360 degrees), it was much safer than running almost blind.

The ultimate solution was to get a longer light pole that had a glare shield below the light. That was many years ago, so I don't remember the source.
