For those of you with my same boat,The steering has always,(3years) since I own this one owner boat , been like a truck.Everything seems in great shape, just hard to turn in a hurry with out tiring the arm abit.Short of power steering, any clues to why?It has the two seastar steering hydraulics and a tie bar and the engines are free of any neglect as far as grease and steering tube type possibilities. :hmm

It might just be the nature of the beast but one thing to do is to try the steering in neutral with the boat at the dock. If there is not a lot of difference in steering effort at rest compared to at speed, then either it has always been that way or there is a problem with the steering cable, box, linkage etc.
On the other hand if the steering is a lot easier at rest than it is at speed, I would look at motor anode settings (trim tabs) and also motor toe in/ toe out.

It doesn't really mater. If it is hard not under load, it will be hard when at speed. It may on the other hand be not so hard at rest but hard at speed. That info will still be a clue.NO REGRETS said:
In the first case, it still could be linkage, valve body or pump as well as a binding motor as mentioned. I suppose a bad actuator could also be the problem
