Grady 28, I wish I could afford new but then reality sets in. I am looking at the 2002 - 2006 330 Expresses, I love the center helm feature.

We were also looking used but 2008 or newer. Apparently, the transom on 2007 and older cannot handle the weight of the Yam 350's. Not sure about those new 300's. We just didn't want to have a boat underpowered. A lot of the earlier ones had 225's and 250's on them which didn't seem to be enough power.

Most boat shows have booths set up for boat loans. Since most brokers and dealers have new and used boats for sale at the boat shows, you might try that avenue. Good luck.

i own an 03 330 and she was far from underpowered with 225's. i recently repowered her with 250's and the performance numbers are the same. she planes out easily and cruises at 27-30mph and thats with 350gal fuel, crew and gear.

Thanks. My 272 sailfish has twin 225s OX66s and I have always felt these are the perfect horsepower for the boat. I can't see how 4 stroke 225s (which I think are heavier) could be enought for a boat that is heavier, longer and wider. Right now I cruise easily at 30-32 burning 18-19 gal / hour. What are your numbers?

i would be happy to take you for a ride. she is currently docked in baltimore, but i may move her to chesapeake beach for november. i keep her in ocean city during the summer. my numbers are 27-30mph burning 1.1-1.4mpg . grady engineers knew what they were doing when they designed these boats and they are not under powered.

Chub2000,

Where do you keep your boat in O.C.? Do you mind me asking what they charge you for the summer? It never occurred to me to do that, but I'd love to have my boat up there for the summer.
