I have a 1988 Seafarer and this boat was a wreck when I bought it, but I’ve been restoring it over the past few years and I’m almost done.
The bulkheads were rotten so I replaced them with 3/4” Marine Plywood and then added 1/4” starboard on top of that. The boat has been completely gone through, only have a small punch list left.
I forgot my speakers today so I’ll install them next weekend. I was scratching my head trying to figure out what to do with the side panels. Seafarers had old carpet in them and most guys replace the carpet with new carpet. I tried something different. I wanted to put a door and a compartment, but it’s not deep enough. What I decided after much contemplation was to make speaker boxes out of them and it came out pretty good.
