I'll be bottom painting mine in the next couple of weeks and need to strike a waterline. Grady sent me the diagram below showing the float line form the factory in "light" condition. there's a .jpg and a .pdf

Mine has a 2004 Honda 150 and will have a bit more than 50lbs of equipment at the dock.

Are these measurements accurate or should I raise them an inch or two?

thanks,

Rob

The most accurate way is to launch the boat, loaded as it normally would be, mark the line and add an inch or two.
If the boat had been in the water, I would think that it might be possible to see the old waterline assuming you haven't polished the hull

I understand that but it's not an option and I cannot see a water line on the hull.

Then I guess I would use the grady provided data and add 2 inches. You can always add later/next season, but can't easily take off extra.

I just though of something. You could research boats for sale, find you model and hopefully you will find a few hulls with bottom paint and see if the line that Grady spec'd seems to match.

start low...then move up. I have a 2001 Hull and 2001 Yamaha 130.

DM me if you want some more pics, I have a bunch.

I'm taking advantage of the NY "stay home" situation to do this work, I don't think I'll be driving around to see boats.

Thanks for the picture Ian, if you have more I'll PM you my email to send direct. I'm going to putting on a barrier coat so I'm going to try to get it as close to possible the first time. I just hard back from GW and they said the diagram they sent is with a Yamaha 150, that is supposed to be within 10lbs of my engine so I should be OK.

thanks,

Rob

Boat is in my fathers yard, I can get a real measurement later in the week if needed. 2005 with a F150180 Sportsman.jpg

That would be great, thanks. I can see already the difference at the stern between yours and Ian's with the 115hp.

I'll PM you my email also.

thanks,

Rob

I wasn't suggesting you drive around to look at boats. I was suggesting you look at for sale pictures online.
