Sea trial this morning on a 307 Freedom. I already know it needs new isinglass. Does anybody know the cost of new isinglass for the 307? Any chance of finding a slightly used isinglass?

Any place to find Grady parts beyond the dealers?

Thanks.

If the canvas is in good shape but the clear plastic is shot, a canvas shop can install new plastic using the old canvas That will be a lot less expensive than a completely new set of panels. ( Which can run a few thousand dollars.)

There are a lot of variables here, depending on materials. Get a couple quotes from some local shops.

Try A&J Canvas in Vanceboro, NC (252) 244-1509 The did a lot of work for GW.

Re-using the canvas frame isn't how I would do it. Even if its in good shape its a lot of work to get the glass out. The canvas gets damaged along the way and has to be repaired. Then sew back in where the old needle holes will still be there. You don't use much Sunbrella/Stamoid fabric for the frames and the real cost is in the glass.

I had my Marlin done a few years ago and it was 2500.00
Last year I helped my buddy sort of restore his. We used the headlight restorer we bought at Walmart. I forgot the brand but is was about 10 bucks. It isnt perfect but he will get a couple years out of it. You might want to try a test area on yours.

Another vote for A&J Canvas. Sent my old enclosure to them and they used it for a template. Had one panel that was a little off and they took it back, fixed it , and sent it back at no charge. Way cheaper than any of my local shops. 2 week turnaround. They do all the OEM canvas work for GW.
