I want to keep my swim ladder so I would like to mount the kicker on starboard side. There is a transom door so I am asking for mounting pictures and where a bracket could be bought.

Thanks.

I have a panther mount on my Islander, sorry I couldn't find a better photo.
We use the swim ladder all the time, and I noticed people would sit on the trash can lid to dry off and then just swing into the boat.
Rarely was the transom door ever used so I put the Panther behind it and never even missed the door.
Add an EZ Steer and everything is at the helm, works great.
Google Panther mount, I know Iboats had them, I got mine off ebay new.

I need it for salmon trolling in Seattle. I ned to cut an access hole behind the transom door to gain access to tighten the bolts on a bracket. Are there any braces or obstrutions to place a 6" access hole half way between the transom door and the rub rail?

Thanks.

I had heard that the install was a PITA so I had it done for me,
and know they used the factory access plate below my transom door and a guy w/long arms , no new access holes were opened up.
The bolts were tighened from the outside.
Depending on your transom setup and angle you may also need an offset plate.
Check out garelick (sp?) mounts as well.
