Leaking Sliding Side Windows

Our Sliding Side Windows are leaking - I assume the seal at the bottom of the gutter is gone. Has anyone fixed this problem? Can you remove the sliding windows and replace the seal with out taking the whole window out?

I replaced mine last year and did take the window out because I wanted to reseal the window frame. Anyway on my windows, which are older than yours so perhaps not similar at all, you would be able to replace the "kitty whiskers" track while the window is in place. I think it would be easier to have the window out and it was not a big deal to remove and replace my window but certainly doable.
