My livewell pump on my 1992 23 Gulfstream died, and I want to replace. First question - where is it? Second question - have any of you replaced it, and do you have any ideas for this?

Thanks,

Rob Lehnert

GW Livewell pump

My Gulfstream, albeit a couple years older, livewell pump is located under the passenger seat (take out drawers and bottom wood plate). You'll see it right there. Mine was a Johnson pump and pretty easy to replace.

Check

Forgot one thing-do a voltage check and see if its the pump or the wiring. As wires get older, corrosion builds up till its not delivering a full 12 volts at the pump. Easy to do-pull pump out and connect to a battery (note + and - terminals).

livewell pump

I also have a '92 Gulfstream in need of a livewell washdown pump.It is located portside, aft. Just follow the hose from the seacock. I found that if I turn my switch on and tap on the pump housing with a screwdriver handle it will start to run so I figure its got some sort of internal problem, I am not sure if these can be taken apart or not. Maybe just time for a new one? It looks like it may be tough to get at the mounting bolts.
Joe.

Are you sure your not thinking of the "fresh water" pump? That's where mine was, (91 Gulfstream).

My livewell / washdown pump was originally under the rear, center deck lid. I replaced and moved it to the transom, (port side).

LiveWell

No; my livewell/washdown pump (Johnson) is under the port seat pedestal as I mentioned. The freshwater pump for cabin sink is mounted in the f/w tank and is below the livewell pump . I do not have gunnel-mounted f/w on my Gulfstream.
