So, sitting....laying here....lol... with my old Lab that just farted and almost killed all of us, and my Chorky that looks at me like I did it...

Making plans for the weekend. I ordered 4 more of those rubber wheels to remove decals. They really wear out fast....but I think I figured out how to get the most out of them now, I just do not want to order two and need another, so got 4, lol.

Doing 1/4 of the boat a day, no more....that way, don’t wear my arm out or get discouraged. Should be able to get her ready to wash by Saturday or Sunday....Probably Sunday as I have a few other details to do.

Going to cut and solder the vhf cables first. I got the parts in. I also got new hub caps and dust covers. Going to pull those and see how they look and replace the caps and covers and refill or replace the hubs as needed.

let’s see.. going to get the entire family out there Sunday to wash the boat, inside and out top to bottom. If all goes well, once she dries, will apply the new decals.

Eventually, will have the entire hull sanded and painted. While the new hull stripes will be nice, the color of the hell and some cuts and oxidation....she could use a little makeover. Nothing too needy atm, but if I want her to last, it would be a good investment at the same time I replace the transom cap.

So, the plan is...save up another comp day at work and make myself a 3-day weekend in May and then another the weekend of June 6th.First weekend is for a shakedown on the coast, second is for snapper season;)

Don't forget to clean the decals with rubbing alcohol to ensure good adhesion. Sounds like you've got a full bucket list.

Rubbing alcohol? I thought the hull stripes had adhesive on them already. I would think alcohol would strip that off. Will check the site for instructions.

Pretty sure he was meaning the location on the hull, not the stripe itself. A spray bottle with water helps with placement also, allows you to work the decal around a little. Take a squeegee when done and work the water and bubbles out. The water will dry out from under the decal in time.

Russ, never used the rubber wheels to remove decals, but found a heat gun with a plastic scraper had the decals off mine in no time. AS KY said a little water with a bit of dish soap certainly helps with moving the decals to the right position. Let dry and all is good. Would love to see a pic or two on launching and shakedown day!

Okay, rubber wheels took time, but worked well. Problem is, they wore out before I finished lol. Literally, if I had one more I would have been done, but I used them as long as I could.

so, ordered 4 more. I like having spares heh....and they were cheap.

Got curtains up in the two shop windows to block out some of the heat and I hate people able to see inside....no idea why I did not say to leave the windows off but oh well:p

lunch and then back at it....rain came so had to wait. Will fix the vhf lines after the rain goes away.

cleaned the heck out of the shop. I have way too much crap.

Rubbing alcohol worked great on the areas I had cleaned, you could feel I had gotten down to clean base. That being said...you can see she needs some attention to the hull, as a whole...sanding and filling in all the nicks etc. some day...
