I'm in the market to purchase a 2004-2006 Marlin. I'm wondering about the pros and cons of twin Yahama F225s vs twin F250s. Any advise out there? Thanks.

I have a 2005 Marlin with twin F250's. Power is fine and she cruises at 31 mph and wot is 46 mph light. I would try and find one with 250's. The boat is heavy and the more power the better, although she does not struggle at all with F250's. I would love F300's. some day.

Mine runs fine with F225s so I would not rule those out on an otherwise good candidate boat. I'd of course love to have F300s on my next one. :<><

225's had an exhaust issue around 2002-2004 would be my only concern. If the seller can give you detailed maintenance records and a mechanic says oil reservoir and exhaust ports are fine, among the other critical items, you'd be fine.

I have the 250's and they are very economical as in the "sweet spot" they aren't working very hard so mileage is reasonable, about 1.4gpmi... plus there's always about 800rpm of extra "ooompf" if needed.
