Looking for ideas how people have mounted there Electronics, Iv got a 2006 228. Looking at possibly mounting a Garmin 7610 in upper electronics box and may be a 8 inch version at the helm, any or all ideas would be great

'04 228,,,Twin 7 Carbons in lower box. Stacked VHF and AM/FM in upper box.

I like being able to see the fish finder from the cockpit, so it's nice to have it in the upper box.

Flush mounted displays and radio above in radio box. I think you want the nav stuff at eye level and can compromise on other things. I like the radio high, so the cord isn't in the way of anything on the helm.

oh, and investigate flush mount. Really the cleanest solution.

I've have really been thinking about flush mount in radio box, would be different looking a bit up vs glancing down but I can fit a larger screen in the upper

Not sure how big the lower box is on a 228 but I was able to flush mount a 12" evo2 in a 232.
I used an aluminum plate, maybe 3/16" thick that can be cut with a sabre saw and painted black to replace the plastic door. The cabinet opening had to be widened slightly but it fits and looks clean.
