mounting twin outboards

Hi have purchased new motors for my 2001 232 gulfstream have replaced my Yamaha 150 hpdis with Suzuki 175s counter rotating i have mounted them in the same mounting holes as the 150s shaft length was the same.The props were 17 inch and are now 3x16x20L They look to me that they can come up higher i only have on more hole for adjustment on pod, can just see 1 side of cavitation when on plane.But still a lot of spray comming of legs.Also have adjusted toe to 1/2 inch in, has any one fitted suzukis to there Gulfstream I am still running motors in.Have read on this site that for every foot of pod 1/2 inch in hight adjustment should be made to mounting hight,mine are higher than already. any one able to help me out.

Look at the 'cav' plates when on solid plane. They should be ever so slightly above the surface of the water flow but still wet from splash, adjust height accordingly ...

I researched mounting twins on my 22 Seafarer a few years back. General "rule of thumb" is: cav plate even with hull bottom directly in front of center of outdrive, and up 1/2-1" for every 1' back from transom. Another "rule of thumb is: the closer the engines are together, the better the top end, the further apart they are, the better the handling at low speed.
