Anybody with an older 5500 tracker found a way to get unit serviced?

Display went dim, can only be read in low light.

Northstar who bought Navman has a flat rate policy regarding repairs which means any repair starts at 300 bucks minimum.

New units can be had online for under 500$

If Ihave to put out 3-500 or more I'm goin' Garmin, problem is the Navman has fuel management which is very accurate and I've come to rely on it heavily!!!

I would say junk everything but the sender for the fuel manager and buy a separate 2 1/8" display for it. After that you can pick whatever you like for electronics. FWIW, Lowrance HDS series can hook up your fuel management sender, so you don't need the extra display.

What motor(s) do you have? The Yamaha 4-strokes support NMEA 2000 and can be display engine and fuel info on certain Garmin units. But there are not $500 units.
