Need help getting hull clean

[QuickFix]

I started to compound the hull but something is on it that just gums up real bad. Seems like some kind of poly acrylic. I don't know what was put on the boat before I got it. Any advice on removing so I can get on with the compounding and waxing would be greatly appreciated.

I'd give Acetone and a lot of clean rags a go. Wear gloves.

Acetone will pretty much remove anything and then you can start waxing from there
