Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and I'm considering buying a 2000 Fisherman 222 with a 2006 Yamaha 250 Four Stroke, would love to get a little help on the following

- Is the console stand up the picture of the one I'm interested in was full of stuff and it look liked a little storage space but not stand up/able to accommodate a portable potty?
- What year did GW stop using wood in stringers and transoms?
- Any thoughts from owners of this model on and bewares/dislikes or things that you think are great about the boat and stand out. I know GW's are great boats with great reputations.
- Any history with needing to replace the gas tank?
- Any idea of approximate weight of boat, motor and trailer, full tank of gas etc... for total trailering weight?

Thanks, Dave

I'm in a 2003 with matching F225. 46 mph top at 6000 rpm, 4200 cruise at 3 mpg. 900 hours on original owner boat, motor and trailer.
- I'm 6'-3" no chance to stand up. I can measure if you want. Wife and kids haven't complained yet.
- Ours should be green board -non rotting- wood. Look at the transom bang cap, motor mounting bolts, transducer bolts/screws for water intrusion.
- Absolutely fits the bill for what it is. Resale is going to be high if and when...
- OEM aluminum tank here
- Weight is 3160 w/o engine, approx 580 engine, 100 gal gas (700 lbs), 1000 lbs trailer = 5,440 lbs. I don't care as I tow with an F450

Would I buy it again, YES. If I had to choose again I'd look real hard at a 228 with factory top and 250 four stroke. Miss the cabin I had on my F26.
