Hi Folks
New to the forum, first post. I am getting a new Grady mid September, and have more questions than I can count. The most important in terms of time, is what electronics do I get? I am stuck between SIMRAD and Garmin. The dealer is pushing Garmin, but doesn't sell SIMRAD. I have read and heard so many things about transducers and honestly I am just confused. I am looking for advice. I want to use the boat primarily to fish for stripers, but also many other fish at different times in deeper water. I don't see myself fishing too far offshore until and if I decide to get a bigger boat. I don't know if I need Chirp, or traditional, through hull, transom mount, the list goes on. I want to be able to identify fish, that's a given. Most of my fishing I would guess will be in less than 100 feet of water but that may change. I am going to get radar, and possibly even AP because I will be alone often and trolling. I know- waste on a small boat, but I have read too many positive things. ANY help is appreciated. Anything unrelated to my question that you think is a must know- I'm all ears. Have had a 23 foot DC but that was 35ish years ago when I didn't care what happened from one minute to the next(18)
