New Member Question Repowering w a Optimax ?

Hello
I'm new to the Forum and have owned our 1985 22' Seafarer since 1999. Originally we had a Mercury 175 BlackMax then after blowing the power head repowered with a 2001 Mercury 200 CXL which just recently started giving us electrical issues...
Here's the questions...has anyone repowered with a 225 Optimax ? Will the boat handle the extra 100lbs of motor weight? Has anyone added a bracket?

I suspect you will be fine....going from V-6 to V-6. how does the boat sit in the water when you stand on the transom now? I would try that question on THT as well, you 'll likely get some users who are running identical set-ups to chime in.
