I’m hoping to spend some time reading through older discussions and getting familiar with the community. There’s still a lot I don’t know, so I’m looking forward to picking up some useful information along the way.

You'll like it here, this is a well run forum. I've actually made friends with people on here. Just spent a weekend fishing with David Angel, who I met here 6 years ago when he was looking to buy right after I bought my Grady. We've been talking for 6 years and finally met in person. Had a shit couple of days, the halibut would not bite, but ended on an up note by rescuing a kayaker who had capsized. No wet suit. He was about 10 minutes from being dead, I'm 100% sure he'd be gone at 15, David thought 10. I go by luckydude when I can on forums and we sure felt lucky that day. Our timing was perfect, I've watched a video on how to rescue at sea and I did what it taught me, got a dock line with the loop end under his arms and around him, tag end through the loop and David and I pulled him onto the swim platform.
No halibut, but we got a 170 pound asian dude on a dock line
Back to welcome, this place is full of nice people who know a lot about boats. In the 6 years I've been on here, I've gone from having to use a boat hook to dock (cringe) to docking properly, and gone from not knowing how to trim my engine to going off shore and getting a 157 pound bluefin. You'll do the same, you found the right hull and forum. Welcome!
