I have an offshore 24 with twin 140 Suzuki 4 stroke. Runs beautiful and even will plane on just one engine.

My question is what do you think would happen if I put these 2 engines on a Sailfish 25?

My interest is not in speed but range.

Thanks for your opinions.

I think most here with experience running a 25 sailfish would agree twin 200's for that hull is the preferred choice of power but im sure the 140 4 strokes would get er up.... but not too sure of performance during less then ideal conditions

I've got twin 150s on my sailfish......they work pretty well for my type of boating, but if I had a choice, 175s or 200s would be better....the 140s would be marginal.

Thanks for your answers.
Is there a big difference in weight between the 2 boats? I know the Sailfish has more beam...

With the 9-6 beam, my sailfish is pushing 6000lbs easy...hull, twins, 200 gallons fuel and gear.......you need an F250 or 2500 to pull it safely on a trailer. Thats why the 140's may work, but I think you'll be disappointed coming out of the hole, especially with a 4-Stroke.

2 different boats, I wouldn't even try it. A < 90 model wouldn't be as bad but still not good. Getting on plane with 1 200 is iffy, with 17" props you might be able to but I tried a while ago (on the old motors) with 19's and it wasn't going.
