I always look at the diagrams when working on stuff, but....tonight, I looked closer....soecifically at the “flat-wavy-flat” washers.

I have done a lot of impellers...hell, did one yesterday. I took these apart and they were the same way....however, I just looked at Simyamaha’s diagrams.

The way I “have” been adding the washers and housing is I put the washers on right above the impeller. Heck, like I said....the two impellers I just removed were done that way. i always added the metal housing into the plastic, and placed them at the same time.

I just noticed the washers goBETWEEN the metal and plastic housing.

Anyone else able to confirm or deny it matters?

Really confounded as, again...done a lot of these and I had an old guy moment and went to check and ...am totally not finishing tonight as I need to verify this.

Totally stumped lol...and tired...mostly stumped :p

That would mean the ones I had originally were done wrong as well.

Oh, and @Sparkdog118 ...love this impeller kit by Sierra. It barely went on the shaft and has a metal ring inside. The one I had before was rubber and slid right on. I honestly think THIS kit is going to make the difference in the cooling issue. So glad you pointed me in that direction. I never would have tried this brand.

Never mind, answered my own question.. the hole in the metal housing is large enough that it does not matter. I guess it is the egg or the chicken.

Nothing to see.. all is well.. heh
