Hey y'al,
I'm considering doing some fishing off Hatteras Seashore, Oregan Inlet is closest ocean access for me. Looking for some advice on transiting the inlet. I know it's tricky on best day. If anyone has gone in/out thru there tips and advice is welcome.
Thanks!

Rick

I have run Fla. inlets which are not the same, I know..Universal rule would be to try to run it on an incoming tide. That way you do not have opposing current and seas as with an outgoing tidal situation.
Be sure, also, if you run out as the tide is rising, don't stay out so long that you get caught in the pass with the tide going back out. The same seas that were rounded and navigable will be steep cresting mountains. You'll have to get on the backside of one and ride it all the way in.
