I have recently purchased a 28 sailfish with 225 Yamaha 4 strokes . My previous Grady was a 25 kingfish . I use the new and used the old boat exclusively for offshore canyon fishing out of Ocean City Md.. I am reading reports of some people with similar setups cruising at 3600 rpm running at 30 -35 mph and claims of burning 15 gph . Am i missing something here ? im not sure what props i have (i will check ) but i cruise in the ocean at 26-28 knot at 4400 rpm fully loaded fuel and ice and 2-3 people and burn about 22 gph . I also top out about 5700 rpm and 40 knots . Do my numbers seem off am i running my engines too hard ?

Cruises at: 4000 rpm, 27-28 mph, 15.5-16.5 gph
