I recently purchased a 2005 227 tournament (dual console), several questions..
- the gps screen and vhf fills most of the lockable storage in front of the instrument panel (the one with plexi covers). . Since there’s no storage for binoculars I’d like to put them and a foghorn in this storage area. What’s a good place to mount the vhf as a built in?
- it appears the space below the steering wheel unit is just an empty fiberglass wall. I’m thinking of cutting out a “12 x 15” or so rectangle In it and inserting a lockable box into the cavity. Any problems doing that? I can reach it through the red bait box cavity.
anyone who has a 227 and made similar mods pictures would be very helpful!
