Based on the advice received here, it seems reasonable to try the Merc Stiletto prop on my Yamaha engine. OK, I put it on once before and the prop went over the shaft fine. But the Yamaha thrust washer did not allow the Merc prop to go far enough on to the shaft. There was a large gap between the housing on the lower unit and the forward edge of the prop hub. Who do I call for a kit? Yamaha or Merc? And what do I ask for - a kit or a thrust washer?

I am running a Yami OX-66 225 and want to try a Merc Stilletto with a 14 1/2 X 17" prop. All comments greatly appreciated.

Did you buy the "Flo-Torq II" hub kit that Quicksilver makes?

Looks like the part number is 835271Q2...should set you back less than $40

No, didn't buy anything yet, have no clue what to ask for. So I'm headed off to a Merc dealer?
