Radar on a 205 or 225?

The only way I know of, (without a hardtop, t-top, or arch) is using a mast. It has to be high enough to clear a bimini, (canvas) top. You also have to make sure no persons are in it's beam. Usually they're mounted just forward of the windshield area, either in the center, or off to one side. Imo, it's very ugly.

If you can afford it, consider going for a hardtop. If not, I think the most practical method would be a radar arch.

I think a HT on a 205 or 225 would be great, but pretty expensive.

The main thing I miss about not having a HT is the radar. An arch with a ski tow on it would be nice on a Tourney.

I used to know a couple guys with go fasts that had radar domes in the anchor lockers with 1.5kw units. They'd run them on low ranges and it gave a pretty good picture shooting through the hull 4 feet off the water.

There is probably room in the 205/225 lockers up front for a dome, but the radar waves can be hard on your eyes at close distance. I wouldn't recommend it. :shock:
