Hi everyone, need some advice about a radar unit for a 283 Release. I have a Northstar 6000i plotter and would like to get a northstar radar. Should I get a 2 kw or 4 kw? I go 20-30 miles off shore. I also have a opportunity to get a 4kw open array (3.5 ft) for a great price. Do you think it's to big for the top? Thanks for your advice and happy boating

I had a 2' on my 272 and a 3.5' on my 300. I believe there are bunches of CCs in Fla with 3'-4' arrays. Check on THT but I know I have seen some pix. A 4' might be a stretch for you top. A good installer can advise.

An array will give much better target resolution and allow you to see birds. The more power, the further away you can spot them.
