I been reading many of the threads on the buffing of the gelcoats.

My question is which, from experience, is better?

Using a three part system like Capt. Bill did (looks great by the way 8) )

or using 3Mcompound then Finesse It II followed by Rejex?

Which do you think holds up better? Looks better? and Lasts longer?

Thanks

I have used 3M compound and 3M marine paste wax for years. It always worked great. This year I bought Collinite liquid cleaner wax and liquid finish wax. I haven't tried it yet because its been tool cold. Im told that the collinite is longer lasting but a PITA to remove if you let it get away. I always hand applied the 3M stuff and machined it off. The collinite doesn't say hand vs machine application. So I too am looking for wax advice.

I used a three part system years ago on an older boat. BIG MISTAKE. The 3M will renew old, oxidized gel coat. The key is a high speed buffer to really work the compound into the gel coat. I used to finish all coats with a coat of marine teflon.
