Have a 1990 Overniter with original 175 Yamaha 2 stroke. Looking to repower to a 4 stroke. Yami and Honda only make a 150 and a 200 in this power range. The 200 is too heavy for this age boat (scuppers too low) and not sure the 150 has enough power. Was looking at the Suzuki 175 4 cyl. 4 stroke. Does anyone have any feedback on this engine...do you have one or know someone who does? Any info appreciated...thanks

Just FYI, a friend put a Yamaha F150 on this same hull and he is happy with it. Not fast, but gets up on plane okay.

See if you can find a 200 HPDI. Everything is plug and play (although I would replace the oil tank)....

I've owned adventures with the 200 4s and hpdi. The 4s is slow and very heavy whereas the hpdi makes that boat run like a scalded dog. Jumps out of the water and uses no more gas than a 4s. I 2nd the hpdi.

I repowered my 1993 Escape 209 5 or 6 years ago. I took Parthery's advice re: 200 HPDI. I'm glad I did, very glad.

Thanks Parthery

I have a 1990 Overnighter and a 2009 Suzuki 175 DF 4 stroke. This is my 4th season and the engine has been great (knock on wood). Would be happy to speak with you if needed.

Etec 225? Light, powerful, economical, clean, and fast!

I'm with all the votes for HPDI - Dealer told me once the torgue on the 4 Strokes is more of a concern than the weight - I have had 4 strrokes and a 200HPDI - They are both great engines - you will be vey happy with the HPDI. Clean, quiet, dependable and very fuel efficient
