I have a 1990 Overniter 20. Still running the original Yamaha 175 and it runs great. Was thinking about repowering at some point and was wondering if it is possible to mount twin 90 4 strokes on that transom. Looking for twin engine reliability since I take the boat 60 miles offshore at times. Has anyone repowered in this way? Any thoughts appreciated!!

I would check with Grady and closly follow their advice on weight of the twins..............

I repowered my 92 Overnighter with a 200 4 Stroke. 625 hrs on new engine used to have the same 175 as you. The 200 is a reliable engine and you won't need twins.

Take a look at the 1990 catalog: http://www.gradywhite.com/customer/cata ... s/1990.pdf

The cutout does not appear to be wide enough on the Overnighter to accomodate twins...even those skinny little 90s. Not so on the Fisherman though...

That being said, anything is possible with a little blood, sweat and tears...and money and fiberglass and marine plywood. :)
