What year was the motor bracket incorporated into the full running surface ? (272) What year did it become a 282

The last year of Grady Drive on the Sailfish as an option was 1993, in 1994 the euro transom appeared, Grady's so called integrated transom.

In both cases, the bottom of the drives were flat.

In 1998 the flat bottom was no more, the V hull went all the way back. The boat never was made longer, overall.

You would only know this from looking up from the bottom at the stern.

It was still called a 25 in '94 too (Marlin was still called a 280).

I have the 1995 Sailfish 272 with the step hull in the stern with 200 hp HPDI motors. A friend has the 282 with the straight bottom all the way to the stern. Both hulls are SeaV2 design. The step hull is a little faster (1.5 mph) and a little more fuel efficient (.2 gph) than the full length bottom st similar rpms. I am not sure if the differences can be attributed to the shorter effective length with less hull drag or not. I do know that if I had heavier 4 stroke motors I would prefer the full bottom for the additional boyancy.
